Phonics Bear Worksop
Here's more about Rachel:
“Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve dreamed of working with children, and from leaving school I went on to become a nursery nurse where I worked in a day nursery with children from birth to 3 years old.
I then decided to go to university, where I completed a childhood and disability course, after which I went on to become a teaching assistant working in a special needs school.
After getting lots of experience as a teaching assistant, and working with some very inspirational children and teachers, I decided I wanted to further my career and become a teacher. I completed the SCITT teacher training course, where I was lucky enough to get lots of invaluable experience of working in many different schools and seeing the different ways of teaching. I met some amazing children, and seeing them learn and progress whilst I was there gave me great pride.
Once I was qualified, I started working at a school, where I remained for 8 enjoyable and memorable years. Working across foundation stage and Year 1 has given me a vast knowledge of the early years curriculum and the teaching of phonics.
I am incredibly excited to be joining the Phonics Bear team and becoming a class leader in [area]. I have a real passion for teaching phonics, it is such a fundamental part of learning and teaching children to read and write. With my many years’ experience delivering phonics to children, I’m looking forward to delivering fun, interactive, multi-sensory classes and teaching toddlers & pre-schoolers to read and write, as well as making a lasting, positive impact on children’s wellbeing and development.
I want to help pre-school children in [area] to have a positive attitude to learning, to help them achieve their best, and to be ready for their next stage in primary school.”
